Hampstead House

This extension and refurbishment improves a Grade II listed house in Hampstead. It is one of a collection of Arts and Crafts houses on a crescent adjacent to Hampstead Heath, designed by renowned Edwardian architect EJ May.

Currently under construction, the project includes a significant overhaul of the existing house, with complete internal renovation, a rear extension and a new lower, landscaped garden to better connect the interior with its verdant surroundings.

The extension is paired back with simple architectural detailing using a common material palette of brick and stone derived from the existing house. The design embraces the Arts and Crafts principles of simple forms, authentic materials, and meticulous craftsmanship.
