Architecture for London has completed a West Hampstead extension project

This ground floor leasehold flat was extended and refurbished to provide a large kitchen and dining room. The rear extension provides new views of the long garden, which backs onto the open space of the Hampstead Cemetery and sports ground.

Externally the extension is finished in timber and brick, with glazed bi-folding doors leading to the stone terrace. Internal finishes include recycled timber floors and a character sliding barn style door. The bathroom, WC and utility rooms are located to the centre of the plan, allowing living areas and bedrooms to benefit from maximum daylight at the front and rear of the flat.

The property is adjacent to the West End Green conservation area in Borough of Camden, and the surrounding area is dominated by identical three storey, bay fronted Victorian terraces built in the late 19th Century.
