Highbury house extension architect with polished concrete floor and stone tiles and roundhouse modern kitchen

Architecture for London has completed a sketch scheme for the refurbishment and extension of an existing mixed-use building on Bateman Street, for Soho Estates

The residential areas and common parts of the building are to be refurbished, creating nine high-quality flats for private rental. A set back roof level extension creates an additional storey with penthouse apartments.

The project is intended to be a distinctive showcase for the Soho Estates brand, and the design of each apartment is therefore unique. The interior of each apartment is inspired by either a current or historic Soho character, from artists to philosophers – leading to very different homes within the building.

Location: Bateman Street, Soho W1
