Architecture for London has an opportunity for a studio manager to join its team in London.

We are looking for a studio/office manager with experience in architecture/design-related workplaces to carry out administrative roles within a thriving young practice.

We are award-winning architects and designers working on a range of private residential, and commercial projects across London. We work toward Passivhaus and EnerPHit standards of comfort and low energy, creating sustainable homes.

The ideal candidate should be looking to build experience and responsibility but also be willing to carry out the basic tasks required in supporting a busy practice. The role covers studio management, finance, marketing and human resources.

This is a full-time role based at our studio in Farringdon.

Studio management:

  • Statutory obligations, including health and safety
  • Assisting architects with administrative tasks and document control
  • Prepare and edit documents, reports and letters
  • Studio maintenance and housekeeping

Finance:

  • Liaising with accountants
  • Invoicing clients
  • Assisting with payroll
  • Managing online accountancy programme
  • Fee proposals, payment schedules, forecasts and accounts

Human resources:

  • Managing HR
  • Monitoring timesheets and annual leave
  • Assisting with recruitment

Marketing:

  • Assist in preparing expressions of interest and awards submissions
  • Supporting the senior team in business development
  • Organising events

Essential skills:

  • Xero and Workflow Max
  • Excel/Google Sheets
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Organised
  • Strong communicator
  • High standard of written and spoken English
  • Proactive and logical approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads
