Planning consent received at Hackney
We have received planning permission for a full refurbishment and extension of an early Victorian house on Culford Road in De Beauvoir, Hackney.
The project includes removing all internal walls at lower ground floor, and lowering the floor to transform the current service spaces into a generous open plan room for living and entertaining. A perforated steel suspended staircase is inserted into the centre of the plan, improving borrowed natural light from the hall above.
An 8.5m wide run of telescopic glazed sliding doors overlooks the west facing garden, making the most of the evening light and garden views. The kitchen is constructed in solid walnut and pre-cast polished concrete, including concrete worktops and sinks internally, continuing outside to an external barbecue. The patio and cladding panels are also in matching polished concrete.
An open plan master bedroom occupies the entire 2nd floor of this double fronted house and incorporates bespoke 3-core joinery, a freestanding bath and a marble-clad shower room.
