Listed building refurbishment

Listed building consents, Colebrooke Row

Posted by AFL in News

AFL have won planning and listed building consents for the extension and sensitive refurbishment of a Grade II listed Georgian house at Colebrooke Row in Islington. The proposals include a 3 storey rear extension with a contemporary glass box to the lower ground floor.

All elements of the scheme visible from the adjacent road are detailed traditionally with brick facades and sash windows. The concealed flank wall and lower ground extension however are designed as contemporary additions featuring large fine framed aluminium sliding glass doors. An additional connection to the garden is proposed with steps leading from the raised ground floor.

Internally, the house is to be reconfigured and refurbished, with a new kitchen in the formal rear reception at raised ground floor, and new bathrooms throughout. Works on site are expected to be complete in early 2016.
