Claylands Road, Lambeth
Claylands Road is now out to tender and is expected to start on site shortly.
This project is for the renovation and extension of an early Victorian end of terrace house on Claylands Road, Lambeth. We propose to rebuild a stock brick boundary wall and connect this wall to the house with an infill extension featuring a frameless glass corner. This proposed extension has a full length roof light with interlocking, angled structural timber beams beneath that also provide shade to the open plan kitchen / dining room.
A level polished concrete floor and external terrace will connect the kitchen with the garden through glazed sliding doors. A structural glass oriel window forms a window seat overlooking the garden.
Both the new extension and existing two storey outrigger at the rear of the property will be clad in brick slips, with a textured slurry applied. These materials refer to the original Victorian brick, whilst creating a distinct contemporary finish.
